After our first participation in January 2020, we decided to participate again at the ‘Traversée de Paris’ organized by ‘Vincennes en Anciennes’ on Sunday July 26th. More about this event in the next story. This story is about the trip to Paris on Saturday 25th.

Thanks to my co-pilot’s excellent map-reading skills we managed the rather basic itinerary perfectly. Old school manner, with the roadmap in hand. Co-pilot Michiel (16 years) explained that he has had map reading in School and found it boring. In real life, he finds it exciting and indeed did a very good job.
From Dinant on we basically followed the Meuse (river) up to Charleville-Mézières. Lovely drive and the weather conditions, predicted as troublesome, were pretty much ideal.
We still had to reach Paris, the itinerary was planned for this, but in Neufchattel-sur-Aisne we decided to leave it for what it was and to visit a ‘maison de Champage’, being near Reims the Champage capital.
We visited ‘Champagne CL de la Chapelle’ in Villedommange, near Reims. After tasting some excellent examples, we took off for Paris with filled booth’s.
Then straight to Paris for the ‘Traversée de Paris’ on Sunday.
