This Volkwagen Scirocco GTX was first delivered in Germany early 1986. In 2001 it came to Spain where it stayed until recently. In 2015 it changed ownership in Spain to the last and 3^rd owner. The carpenter from Madrid kept the car in his collection with f.i. a Ferrari, a Porsche, a Mini and a BMW E36. Due to this considerable collection the Scirocco was not used a lot and finally had to go.

What a lovely car in a very good condition this one is. It has the powerful KX motor with 139 hp. I took the car from Madrid and drove it to Barcelona, some 600 kilometers. A very lovely drive it was. This car puts a smile on your face right away. It has a sports exhaust and other than the original alloy wheels.

The Volkswagen Scirocco is a three-door, front-engine, front-wheel-drive, sport compact, hatchback manufactured and marketed by Volkswagen in two generations from 1974 to 1992 and a third generation from 2008 until 2017. Production ended without a successor.

The Scirocco derives its name from the Mediterranean wind.

A heavily redesigned "Type 2" variant (internally designated Typ 53B) went on sale in 1981, although it remained on the A1 platform. The second generation Scirocco, still assembled on behalf of Volkswagen by Karmann of Osnabr¨ck (in the same factory as the first generation Scirocco), was first shown at the 1981 Geneva Motor Show in March that year. Designed by Volkswagen's own internal design team, the new car featured increased front and rear headroom, increased luggage space and a reduction in the coefficient of drag. One feature of the Type 2 was the location of the rear spoiler midway up the glass on the rear hatch. A mid-cycle update occurred in 1984, which included minor changes over the 1982 model: removal of the outlined "SCIROCCO" script from the rear hatch (below the spoiler), a redesigned air conditioning compressor, and a different brake master cylinder with in-line proportioning valves and a brake light switch mounted to the pedal instead of on the master cylinder.
