Rally season is fast approaching, and we wanted to be prepared this year. So we set off one Saturday morning at 7 a.m. to reach the location where classes were held. We arrived at 8\u201945, late again, just like in our younger years. Some things never change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We came in style and prepared. I took my 1972 BMW 3.0 CSi out of storage the day before and assembled the stuff we needed for a regularity rally, a training in this case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training was given by Bjorn Vanoverschelde of JBR Events, we were in good hands. In the morning target audience was \u2018beginner\u2019-level. Although participants would have hardly any experience, they did have the right wheels for starters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A brief introduction of the regularity rally concept obviously covered topics like roadbook, precise distance and time. But soon after the introduction we were thrown into reality and had to perform 3 RT\u2019s before lunch. After the feedback moment there was even a price to win, and we won it. I think it is fair to say that being a bit more experienced than the other participants, this was no surprise. Reluctantly we accepted the price, 2 excellent Gin-bottles. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After lunch, the session was a \u2018evolved\u2019 level. As we did in the morning, in this session again we got a lot of useful tips. Our goal is to put them into practice, without forgetting the basic things like set the chrono, set tripmaster, stay on the right road, \u2026 A lot of things can go wrong when performing RT\u2019s, in order to set good results those issues must be left behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
