In 1966 the first Sonett II would be produced using a 3-cilinder 2-stroke engine displacing 841cc. From 1967 on the Sonett would be supplied with the 1500cc V4 Taunus engine. To host the higher engine the hood had to be redesigned. Eventhough most of its production was done in Sweden, practically all Sonett II’s were exported to the USA.
