In this story you will get some extra information on how we sell your classic car for you. This by giving an example of a recent sale.
At the end of August Peter contacted us. He wanted to sell his Porsche 911 SC (1981). Sadly he didn’t enjoy the beautifull car because of a lack of time, therefore it could go.
We checked he car in the workshop and saw that it was in a good condition. If any repair was needed, we could of course do this right away.
Together with Peter we set the selling price. We put together a complete sales file, with lots of pictures, an oversight of the most important documents and a description of the Porsche. Of course this was published on our website and on some other dedicated sites.
The next day we had a visit form the first potential buyer who came all the way from Cologne (Germany), he made an offer which was in our (CCS & Peter) opinion to low. A few days later a second potential buyer, this time from Lille (France), asked us to reserve the car for him. After he checked the car and a test drive the Porsche was sold at as good as the asking price.
The whole process untill delivery of the car in Lille mid September took less than 4 weeks. Of course this can take a bit longer.
Aside from advertising online we use our network, participate at events and car shows (Antwerp/Ghent/Brussels/Maastricht/…).
Some tips for a smooth sale:
- Make sure the car is in good condition and had all its maintenance
- Keep and collect as much history as possible
- Put a realistic price on the car
- Make a comprehensive sales file
